We are so glad you're running these weekly calendars. No one in town, including us, had any idea that all of this was going on. How do you even keep track of it all? It's hard to imagine that any nonprofit organization in town does more for our community than you guys, week in and week out. Honestly, this is remarkable.

So, if you count 'em up, Barksdale and Theatre IV did 49 performances this week. FORTY-NINE!!! Just out of curiosity, how many full-time theatre jobs ($350 per week or more) were made possible by these 49 shows in one week?

Actually, we did 74 performances during the eight days featured in this weekly calendar. When the calendar indicates that a tour show is performing in "Dinwiddie schools" (or some other locality, we are almost always doing two performances that day. When you count both performances on these two show days, you come up with 74.

During these eight days, we offered full time employment (using your criteria of $350 or more per week) to 27 touring actors, 9 mainstage actors/stage managers, and 42 full time production and administrative staff members, for a total of 78 full time jobs. We also offered part-time work to approximately 19 others.

Thanks for your question.
